Do you make an effort with Christmas windows and doors or is the decoration all too much for you?
Christmas is coming and everyone is starting to out up their decorations and get festive. Have you thought about how you are going to make your Christmas windows and doors all festive? Here are 5 of our favourite ways to design displays for you Christmas windows.
Christmas windows – painted
You can buy special glass paint that will allow the artist in you to design a wintery scene, or a festive Santa Claus on your Christmas windows. Make sure that you buy the right sort of paint so you can remove the picture at the end of the holiday season.
To remove your painted Christmas window deisgn you can use a razor blade. Hold the razor blade at a 45 degree angle, and carefully and gently scrape the paint away. Make sure the glass is wet while you are scraping with the razor blade, otherwise you may scratch the glass. Alternatively, you can spray your razor blade with glass cleaner and then scrape away the paint.
You might not be very artistic and feel that you can’t draw a picture on your windows. Not to worry, these Christmas stencils could be just the thing for you.
You can buy cans of pretend snow spray and can use the stencils to make patterns making your windows and bifolding doors all festive.
Removing snow spray from windows can be a nightmare but like the paint a blade should do the trick if you scrape gently, or mix one part ammonia to three parts water and remove with a plastic scrubber.
Christmas windows – decorations
If artistry isn’t your thing at all, you could always make use of a bit of tinsel and some baubles on string. Hanging some baubles at different lengths can make a statement out of a window that would alternatively be very plain.
These decorations will look festive throughout the holiday period. And they will be easy to remove when you are taking down your Christmas tree.
Christmas windows – lights
If stringing baubles and tinsel are just not your thing you can always buy a set of ready made window lights. Either a string of stars, or icicles, or a lovely light up snowman or santa.
Christmas windows – bare
Our final Christmas window display idea is nothing. Hang on a minute. We don’t mean that we can’t think of one. We mean just leave your lovely door or window as it is, and showcase your beautiful tree.
However you decorate. or don’t decorate your windows and doors, we wish you a very peaceful Christmas, filled with love and laughter.
Merry Christmas from everyone here at Outlook Aluminium.
